Usually people prefer to use an Apache front-end load balancer due to its simplicity and ease of configuration etc. This is the most commonly used load balancer I am aware of, and you can easily decrypt SSL etc at this layer. If you run another WSO2 ESB instance you could do the same - but at the risk of exposing a critical piece of your infrastructure to the outside world. I would suggest Apache for your deployment..
