I've heard others comment on server problems, etc. the past few days so I bet you're right. I got the messages "Surprise" from Marian and one from Music Director. I immediately shut down and updated all my security even tho I had just done it. The two days before I had tried to send a message repeatedly and my server wouldn't take it. I think that they may have shut down to upgrade their security.. Sorry to confuse. There have been three wierd posts. The first two supposedly came from Marian...except them didn't come from her typing. One was "Surprise for you" in the subject line and I can't recall the other. The one supposedly or actually from Music Director had "Hello" as the subject line I think. Nothing in the body of the message and I didn't spot or backed away from opening the picture but pretty sure there was nothing there. So I thought it was one of those oops, accidentally hit send too early, but usually the sender posts shortly after and says that's what happened, and I don't think that has happened yet. Probably you're right about the infection and/or someone else using her address. Date: Sun, 5 Apr 2009 14:19:28 -0500 HMMM, I also got the goofy post from Music Director. I opened the picture file and got no warnings, thought it was just a mistaken choice of picture.. Marian is "Music Director"? I have several valid posts from "MD". Perhaps someone else's computer has been infected and chose her address to use, happens all the time. I have had a spam increase but it almost all goes to junk. In the spam increase I'm having, somewhere along the way my address must have been passed as it's stuff one would expcet with the current economy. The ones re Marian and Music Director are more like a hacker it seems to me or this conflicker worm that I heard about from Norton. I'll ask the IT people at work to get their input tmorrow. It was there when I replied and also when writing new posts. I had to go to Earthlink support to get rid of it. That means that every post I sent went to that address. It must be a valid address or I would have many "mail returned" messages. My McAfee is up to date, so I am a bit confused as to how this happened. Has anyone else noticed odd emails in the past 2 weeks? Maybe this explains a bit. Something called a Conflicker worm.............it says below it can send out emails. There was a strange (no content ) one from Music Director in the past day or two, plus two before that which Marian said she didn't send and her computer wasn't even on. I got this info and thought I'd share it with the eskiepeople group.
