Indonesian Christian Communication Forum, ICCF hereby announces it's
willingness/readiness to channel any help you can give to the needy.
A PROGRAM FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND FOSTER PARENTS is still very much needed, in
as much as hundreds of Christian human resources are now stranded and even
have no opportunity to continue their education as well as obtain work
skills.
During 1999 ICCF was able to recruit 9 students from various regions,
particularly from eastern Indonesia. During the 2000/2001 fiscal year ICCF
will recruit another 10 students. The funds needed for this program amount
to Rp. 20 million (US$2,900) for the process of selection and recruitment,
whereas their living costs per year would amount to Rp.68,400,000
(US$9,800).
In addition, about a hundred Christians are in dire need of legal advocacy,
and need funds for advocacy costs. At thepresent there are 106 legal cases
which need advocacy, including the need to apply for church building
permits, applying for the reopening of churches ordered to close,
prohibition of worship services, cases of intimidation and the cases of
several churches having been destroyed and burned down. One difficulty
often encountered by our Legal Advocacy team is the lack of funds, and
operational resources, especially in traveling into the remote areas.
Many church members are suffering and in dire need of basic commodities to
enable them to live better, so they really need to be helped through SOCIAL
ACTIONS and PROVISION OF BASIC NECESSITIES.
As a matter of fact, many Indonesian Christian individuals/agencies are not
receiving accurate and useful information, therefore there is a need to
PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION IN A TIMELY MANNER. Communication and
information is one of the commitments of ICCF to embrace the Christian
communities in Indonesia.
