Hi all,

I've grown pretty frustrated with Jake at the moment. I wanted to embrace
the "JavaScript all the things" aspect of open source development, but I've
reached a breaking point. The main frustration is how it seems to swallow
output, at least it does for me on Windows using Git Bash.

So at the moment, I'm inclined to say let's just use bash scripts for
everything and update the documentation to say you need a bash environment
for development.

I'm not a fan of Grunt, so I don't consider that an option. If there are
other options people want to suggest, I'm all ears.

Thanks.
