I don't know much about chinese claasic work in the english version, but in chinese original work, the sentence was came form Xun Zi. As you can see it below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xun_Zi but maybe i am wrong, you know chinese classic work in chinese version are really difficute to read, most of them were written about 2000 years ago, the difference is quite large. for example, the ancient greek and eygpt words cannot be identify by us easily as well.
