Oh,yes,John! I forgot about the difficulty of your getting a visa as an independent tourist ...You're right!:( Mainland Chinese and Taiwanese governments aren't that friendly as people like you and me,are they?LOL
Oh,well, never mind since you'll be studying in Holland this fall soon! Where in Holland will you be studying? My husband and I had been in and out the countries so many times a decade ago because we had plans settling down there... The last time when we were in 2 cities there was 2.5 years ago with our kids. I aslo encouraged Elham to choose Europe to study instead of USA. Every country in Europe has its own characteristics and charm, and you are so close to every other country by train on the weekend! If it's fun, diversity or cultural events that you're looking for,Europe is the place!;) By the way, what is subject of your studies? One more thing,my husband is going to Hangzhou tomorrow just for a short while...then to Cixi,Ningbo and Shanghai before he returns home to Poland... Oh,he's flying Air France, too!:( I am very worried about his return flight because he will stop in DE Gaule Airport before he flies back to Warsaw...:( MY HEART IS WITH ALL THE BRAZILIAN and FRENCH VICTIMS on AIR FRANCE 447 and THEIR REMAINING LOVED ONES!!!:( Good luck and good day, everyone! Take real good care of yourselves!
