Let me tell you another reason why we learn to lie at very early
age...
When out of our own selfishness or jealousy,we ask our
children,grandchildren or pupils,'Which do you love more,mommy or
daddy,granny or grandpa?'
What do we expect them to say?
When I was a little girl,I was very popular among uncles and aunties
(parents of my playmates)in our neighbourhood,they all fought to give
me a lift to school or buy me some candy or snacks as long as I asked
them to.
One mother of 2 elder boys went even further,once on my birthday,she
told me in front of all other kids and adults that if I called her
mom,she would have bought me a big birthday cake.
That was a big torture and temptation for me at that small age...We
were quite poor and none of my siblings or playmates was so favoured
by her,a well-off woman without a daughter...
Did I materialize her wish?
Take a guess!LOL
