I can't open youtube in turkey because it's banned in Turkey :( On Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 8:50 PM, pln471 <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Alberto, Thank you for your prompt reply to my previous message!:) To give you and other curious cats some idea of how Taiwanese music sound,I googled music from my island for the very first time!LOL I haven't listened to any of it since I left Taiwan. Can you believe it? This is the band I used to listen to because Wu Bai and China Blue are one of the very first few who began singing proudly in Taiwanese. People in Taiwan were banned to use Taiwanese in public,so it was impossible to hear this language on TV,radio or on the street. It wasn't until about 20 years ago when we were allowed to speak it freely... The rock band is very influenced by the western music as you will notice. I admire them still for their efforts in remaining as local as possible though it is a tiny bit!:) Here's the song, the lonely bird in the tree: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxXJ-KIh7I <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxXJ-KIh7I&feature=related> &feature=related By the way,Wu bai means 500 hundred dollars in Chinese. The vocalist,Wu bai believed if Taiwanese people wanted his career to strive, they shouldn't expect him and his band to perform for free outdoors or at the pubs. As a result,he charged all concerts 500 New Taiwan dollars for each person!LOL Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think of it,will you?:) Good day or good night, Pln On Aug 10, 9:53 pm, Dipodidae <[email protected]> wrote: > Very nice topic, but how we should choose music?
