On my Win2K SP3 system I installed WinPcap_3_0.exe ethereal-setup-0.10.0.exe
but did not install gtk and gimp. Suggest you try un-install and start over, installing only winpcap and ethereal. -----Original Message----- From: gmx.net [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 11:28 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Ethereal-users] installation problems -> routine failure hi everyone, the problem I have, seems to be a real nut to be cracked, at least to me. so I'm hoping, there is one of you out there who encountered this kind of problem before, successfully solved it and is willing to share her/his knowledge: I am running a w2k machine (sp4 installed). I installed the following programs in this order: gtk+-1.3.0-20030717-setup-1 gimp-1.2.5-20030729-setup-1 WinPcap_3_0.exe ethereal-setup-0.10.0.exe everthing went smoothly so far. just while installing ethereal, the routing broke off and the following error message was displayed: The NTVDM-CPU detected an invalid command. CS: 06a5 IP:0119 OP:6563742061 the only options left are to either end the routine or to ignore the error. since ignoring errors is seldomly an advisable manner, I hoped for you to give some hints. Ignoring I can still do later. thanks so much, nora _______________________________________________ Ethereal-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ethereal.com/mailman/listinfo/ethereal-users _______________________________________________ Ethereal-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ethereal.com/mailman/listinfo/ethereal-users
