Hello Josef et. al,

are you familiar with etherCAT Master on a debian based linux?

I followed the etherCAT Master Installation chapter in the Manual. On page 80 is described how to start the master driver on a Suse Linux (via script).

what i did on my debian was:

1. coping the ethercat init script from /opt/etherlab/etc/sysconfig/ to /etc/init.d 2. filled in that file the MAC adress of my Realtek Card and the Driver (like described on page80)
3. executed "update-rc.d ethercat defaults"
4. executed /etc/init.d/ethercat start (without any errors)

I would like to know if everything is working fine now. In the manual it says that (on Suse) there should be a message in the Syslog like writte on Page 80.

I dont know if there should be a logfile on debian which says something similar (didnt find any)?!

thx

Malte
