Hi, just FYI, you might be interested in this video of a omnidirectional robot base we're controlling via a bunch of shell scripts that invoke 'ethercat' with certain parameters to control the four motors. After a bit of work to figure out what has to be done, the IGH software worked quite nicely for our purposes so far (this is only a just-for-fun demo, of course, but still nice :-).
