Hi,

I found the developer UI guide for the Newton, and it's rather
interesting

Another thing that seems nice in the Newton UI is the Assistant -- it's non intrusive, you need to click
on the assistant button (always present, at the bottom of screen).

Then, you're presented with a dialog box:

Where you can enter your request and then click "Do", or click on "Please" to have a list of common actions:

The other possibility is to select some text somewhere and click on the assistant, the assistant will then evaluate the text automatically. When the request is made, you can have another dialog box to specify some things. For example, choosing "schedule" will make appears this dialog box to set up a meeting:

The "How Do I?" button open the online help (seems to be a good location for it, no ?)

A nice thing is that any applications can add some new "knowledge" to the assistant, so the assistant can propose more things / understand new requests.
