WOW.

That's excellent !!
I was just starting to write a very small indexing lib for my own
needs, but hey, a Lucene port seems better :-)
Excellent work !

It will take a while to finish.
Since Lucene is going to release the 1.9 (now 1.9RC),
I will port the basic classes in 1.4.3 and add the new one from 1.9
after it is released.
Hope to catch up the Lucene 2.0 release.

ok no problem, 1.4 version has already many features.

I do hope someone can port the org.apache.lucene.store part.
It is not hard, just involve some low-leve java, which I am not familiar with,
and other poart the lucene.* depend on it.

I will try do it, but if somebody want/can do it I would be happy he :-)

PS. Should it stay in Apache licenese or we can put it in GPL/GLPL ?
<Lucene-step-b1.tar.gz>

Well, it's a rewrite, so it's up to you, really. Personally I would be
happy with LGPL (not GPL) or BSD, but that's just me.

I personally prefer BSD, but does it O.K. to change the original
Apache license to BSD while porting an apache project ?

I would vote for BSD too, or may be LGPL.

Quentin.
