I am thinking to move some stuff into EtoileExtensionKit and update some codes inside. I notice that the COPYING states it is under LGPL2 or BSD. While most of the source codes state the same license, UKDistributedView and UKFinderIconCell still state "GPL, Commercial (ask for pricing)". Could we change these statements into a standard LGPL2 or BSD header ?
We cannot change the license to LGPL2 or BSD. The last time I asked Uli about it, he told me he doesn't want to, since he is earning money by selling UKDistributedView to developers who wants to use it in proprietary commercial applications (like sharewares). I asked him to have it put under GPL license besides the commercial one, so we can use it in some GPL applications inside Étoilé.
Could I update these codes with newer version from Uli Kusterer's web site ?
Yes.
Any legal issue ?
Outside of the one I mentionned over there, we should move UKDistributedView in a standalone framework because its license isn't compatible with other classes of EtoileExtensionsKit.
Beside this point, I plan to reorganize frameworks a bit, for EtoileExtensionsKit this would involve to have it break in two separate frameworks : EtoileUI and EtoileFoundation to allow Foundation tools to benefit of some classes which are Foundation only.
