IIRC, GNUstep doesn't support drawing to images, yet.  The way it
seems to be done in most programs currently, AFAICT, is to add a view
to the AppIcon window (see the -(NSWindow*)iconWindow method in
NSApplication), and draw to that view as normal.

Wrong, GNUstep support (1) drawing to image -- focus the image, draw
on the context, unfocus, voila. :-)

(1) although it's possible it does not work with all backends, but it
certainly does work with the art backend, as I'm using the
functionality in Camaelon, and I'm fairly sure it also works with the
xlib backend.
