You forget that the possibility exists that Etree users, unbeknownst to
them, have this virus, and are sending it out to the list, and therefore
these virus warnings might alert them to possible infection if they're
lacking anti-virus software. True, it might not be the best idea to email
the warning to the list, but to the person whose email address the virus was
sent from. If I can save someone's music collection by alerting them to a
possible virus that might maliciously delete files on their machine I feel
that it would be worth emailing it to the list instead of worrying whether
or not someone is "tired" of getting virus warnings.

Your mail program likely has a feature called Filters or Rules that allow
you to delete mail based on certain criteria, the word VIRUS in the subject
for instance. Perhaps you should use that. Honestly though, how long does it
take you to hit the delete button to delete a few messages. Perhaps 50% of
the email I get from the etree lists is of no interest to me, virus
warnings, messages about bands like Phil, SKB, Keller, and other bands I am
not interested in.. yes it may be "useless crap" to me, but it's not useless
crap to someone who might be interested in such.. there is a level of
tolerance required on these lists, we are all individuals and thank god not
alike, or else it would be quite a boring community.
