I'd like to push this idea just a little bit further...server filtering may be the
*only* humane way of dealing with this issue.

If the moderator has to do it, it sets up the kind of dynamic that generates
all those "nazi-this, nazi-that" posts. AND it sucks for the moderator anyway;
who would actually *want* to police a bunch of freaks like us?

If we try to self-moderate this stuff, we end up at the equally unpleasant
respect-the-rules vs. unclench-your-sphincter impasse.

Given the distastefulness of such exchanges on the list, and given that
etree.org has a stake in its own survival, server filtering may be the
"lowest cost" option (taking a broad view of the definition of "cost").

This may be true even though the server filters will neither write nor maintain
themselves, and clever freaks will take some amusement in finding new and
clever ways around them.

I'll take one each for:

GD 09-03-88 SHN
GD 06-14-76 SHN

It would be nice if you used "bandwidth fulfilled" as subject line.
Assume closed if no response.
