winroute is not free... (well, either is windows, but most people alraedy have it). that's why i mentioned the ics thing. since it doesn't sound like he's anywhere close to being in charge of how the lan is setup. so he may not have much of a say in that. i'm using windows ics and it seems to be working just fine. i'd prefer to have some sort of port forwarding for more than what's there (haven't even tried the ftp yet, but i think i might try that tonight). i do want http port forwarding and ssh too if possible. i'm thinking about upgrading to advanced server because it has the routing and remote access (dont' know what it does, but it looks like it does true nat) and i don't have a copy of normal server here. you don't happen to have a crack for winroute, do you? :) i can't afford software like that. i'm going to try it for 30 days. anyone know of any free software NAT solutions other than ics?
