I'm going to get it for saying this - but I kind of agree with my man on this one. The points I think we, as a group, should focus on, however, are the ones that actually JEAPORDIZE the list - the unfriendly trading. It wouldn't make it to a congressional hearing, you know?
A few things I know about the computer world: I didn't think AOL was going to go anywhere when I was using Mosaic and Micheal Jackson released that song via ftp. Trolls - netspeak for those who pop in on lists/newsgroups just to stir up trouble - for example - you going to rec.music.phish and just saying, "Trey is a coke head and he did lines off Mike's Butt - I was there!" or coming here just to post links to your alternate file swapping group. Snowcrash ain't far off. I saw it, for a second, in that unbelievable waste of space steal-your-bandwidth .sig file... There's no excuse for getting virus on your computer, much less passing it off on others. And - no one thought they'd get Napster, either. So - If any newbies haven't been scared away forever, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - if you have questions, ASK AWAY. Most people here are not that knowledgeable about a lot, but some of us are knowledgeable about a little. If you don't want to post to the list, and have a question, especially about a topic being discussed - EMAIL me (or one of us) and MOST of us will get back to you, maybe even with a login here and there. This is all, of course, only my opinion.
