There are no stupid questions. Questions show a desire to increase ones
knowledge.
Sadly a lot of people are turned off by the way that newbies leap in and
rattle around. Yes, the FAQ's are there but it is exciting to find that a
resource, such as etree, is available and that excitement lends itself to
ignoring the protocols that this community has set and tries to uphold. We
can be overbearing here occasionally and some of the posts re the Newbies
have been downright brutal.
I remember Tony Gardner giving me direction when I first started here. I
was thrilled when he told me I had "been the winner" of his offer for a
login. Of course I had no idea what to do or how to do it. At the time I had
read the FAQ's and not being that literate as to what shn's were even , was
very confused as to what I had let myself in for. Tony was kind enough to
guide me step by step. Then there was the help, I received recently, from
Matt Doll in setting up my server. 3 months I uummed and ahhed about should
I or shouldn't I. I was afraid to do it in case I screwed up my Computer.
I still learn more here everyday and love the fact that we are for the most
part, so prepared to share our music and knowledge. My opinion, for what
little it is worth, is that we should adopt a newbie. Kind of Big
Brother/Sister them for a while. Let them know that we value them as future
traders. Maybe, later on, seeders or tapers. Rather than revile these poor
guys lets just offer ourselves as temporary guides.

Sorry about the long-windedness.

Live safely,
