Get the Windows XP Compatability updates from the XP update site (sorry, I
don't know the address but you should be able to find it pretty easily).
Then under "File Options", then "Shorten" change it to "Do Not Generate Seek
Tables". You won't be able to create the seek tables but you can do
everything else.
