After reviewing this DNS provider site:

http://dns.highsynth.com/index-r.shtml

I'm curious for anybody's advice on which of the providers come better
recommended?

I see a lot of tzo and dyndns on the smegs and etree lists, some of the
heavy-hitters seem to use these two the most (the kind people giving out
l/p's every week or so). But the dyndns site now requires multiple
domain registration? What's that all about? (I can't quite figure out
if it costs more to register multiple domains w/ dyndns or not. . .)

tzo seems to get the best review from THIS website, and I like their
router-compatability features -since I'm behind one. But there are also
FREE DNS providers too. Are they even worth considering?

Also, say I set up an FTP server through a DNS provider and change
physical addresses. Then I get new broadband access (due to the
physical move I wuld probably still stay w/ RR'er), would I still be
able to run the old FTP server (essentially keep the old DNS account),
even with a new, different ISP account? I would think that there would
be some way to change bband accounts/access without having to take down
and change or re-set-up one's DNS account/server. I may be moving soon,
and I don't want to go through the hoopla of setting it up, only to find
out that w/ different ISP access, one has to establish a different DNS
account -seems that would be a headache.

I wonder if I'm even wondering properly about these sorts of questions.

As always, grateful for the help/advice.

Tom
