No - how could anyone? its impossible unless you have hours of time to
listen for flaws. I rarely listen in one spot or in one room let alone
doing one task (listening) singly. I listen in office sometimes on a medium
hifi audio set up with computer, sometimes on a portable cd player with
headphones, sometimes in car, sometimes on reasonably good hifi set up
with good speakers, sometimes on a portable cd player with speakers, i have
several sets of headphones. Each of these setups presents a different sound
- I found shows can sound shite on hifi but great on headphones and vice
versa - same with all other set ups.

Even in the car - I need to mute CDs for talking on phone -.

I only recently discovered a real loud buzz / burn flaw on one track of a
Sinatra CD I've listened to many many times. I must have somehow missed
hearing this track at all in all my listens.

That said, i like to have flaws pointed out to me and when I hear flaws i
note them.

I just got a 3 CD P- Funk set - now i wont get time to sit down and listen
through ever - and I'll always play it LOUD while wander around doing stuff
- so I'll never hear a digipop or static this way.

we all should try - but trading is a human activity meant to enjoy music
and preserve it - not to listen for flaws in a essentially flawed
recording / mastering environment.

Some of my most enjoyable show shave digipops, small skips and all sorts of
crap - I still look for better copies - but It doesn't make me feel the
need to get on my high horse and lecture other traders.

I still go to great efforts to make anything I send out is highest quality
I can do.

Reminds me of years ago when I worked with a bunch of people (including me)
who were just getting into real HIFI, we shared magazines etc. and when we
could afford it, the guy who plunged first had a great top end system. We
all went around to listen one night - he had one Elton John Vinyl Album and
one Audio test album, thats all, and he didn't really plan on buying much
more . Taught me a lesson. - Its about the music.
