to whom it may concern,
i have been seeing ALLOT of people not trimming their posts when they
are replying on list to a previous posting (for example, there should never
be a double etree footer at the bottom of a posting....it's a dead give away
of having not trimmed).
basicly the rule of thumb is that when you are replying to a message you
should trim any of the previous message that doesn't directly relate to what
you are saying.
in an attempt to deal with this, i am going to start sending out a very
large message (off-list/privately) to violators.
i think this is the nicest way i can deal with this problem.
if you want to know why i am doing this, then go subscribe yourself as a
digester, and see what a digest full of un-trimmed posts looks like. then
you will know. it is VERY cluttered with un-trimmed posts.
i just wanted to make public mention of this, so that if you get that
"TRIM YOUR POSTS!" message from me, you will know why.
i do understand that sometimes mistakes happen, and that's why i'm not
taking more drastic measures at this time.
