IE can do that; see <http://www.halcyon.com/mclain/ActiveX/>. You
can, however, set security options to prevent it.
If you are running Internet Explorer, you have an insecure system.
No current browser provides, in my opinion, better than an
intermediate level of security, but Netscape is substantially better
than IE in this regard.
