Alas, the last time I checked vmware did not support midi, because I do the
same type of work that you do and would love to dump windows completely.
They do have sound card support and support most other peripherals (network,
serial ports, etc.) just fine. Maybe if enough people asked the for midi
support they would consider it. Of course, you could always do what I did
when my synthesizer blew up-use the keyboard to input notes in Finale. Ugh.
I have not installed the 2.0 beta but I doubt that midi support is in there.
The last time I tried vmware, it was horribly slow, even on my 400 mhz K6-2
and 128 megs of ram, but I know other folks have had better results than I
have.
