Mmmm...I'd like to proceed cautiously.  I've never encountered such an
organization--even the best--that didn't have some difficult politics
associated with it.  That said, there are also advantages to
formality.

I am unlikely to become politically active in such an organization
(nolo episcopari!)  I do think it's worth pursuing.  I think, if we
decide to pursue it, we might consider formalizing a level of openness
in the organizations rules.
