So far, this is the first spam to the list, unless you count the
organics thing, which I had fun turning into an open source thing. I
suppose I could do it here, I don't see why I should. (Guns are open
source, medicine is not).
I'm unhappy with closing the list to non-subscriber contributions.
Too much useful stuff has come from PLUG and mid-valley and even elsewhere
for that to be done for one obnoxious instance of spam.
I don't wish to close subscriptions off either, allowing
subscriptions only after I, or Jamie, or perhaps others, approve.
I've removed nobody from eug-lug. (I didn't save the original
post, nor the poster's address, which makes it harder).
I'll reconsider if this happens again. Jamie and/or I can take
action unilaterally if needed. Granted, part of the motivation for this
attitude is sloth, hands-off is easy on list-owners, but part is an
unwillingness to cut off sources of potential information.
Those of you interested in more discussion of closing this list
can either post to the list or reply by email (to me and/or [EMAIL PROTECTED])
as you feel necessary. I'd prefer to let this blow over.
