Parallel port scanner Linux support?

Dear Lug members:

Stan recently sold a computer to a customer who is running Linux
exclusively on it.

She has a parallel port scanner and wants to have it working on the
Linux box.

Has anyone succeeded w. this? Know where to look for HOW-TO stuff on the
Web?

Please let Stan know if you have already done this.
