Okay, is this thread about beat to death? I think we can all appreciate
revival of yester-years technology, since it is so abundant and easy to
come by; yea, often I dream of devoting my life to helping so many folks
who _want_ email and other connectivity by finding, fixing up, and
reconfiguring all the systems I can find from goodwill, dumpsters (yes,
I've found bootable pc's there!), and flea markets and getting them to the
folks. I think linux (or bsd, which I know less about) is a good solution
for that, as it seems to scale well.
Well, let us squabble no longer, please. It is SO good to have the wide
array of skills that we do, in our group. I'd hate to see such skill
degrade to an ego's "who can do the most with the least" battle; I'd
rather see an actual tournament on some Saturday -- I picture a timed
install fest with folks all over the county bringing out their old dusty
boxes :)
