Usurper
I have a client with a T1 frame (768K) wan from Eugene to Roseburg. Each end has a
Slackware box. The users down there complain about the slowness sometimes.
I say, "Ok. Do you want to put in another circuit?"
They say "No."
One of the partners brought in another consultant who wants to replace the Linux boxes
with Cisco routers. With everything else being equal, will the users see a difference?
I figure a hardware router is faster than a software router, but is there enough
difference to be worth it?
Add to this mix, they also want to do voice over IP and video conferencing.
I say, "Ok. Do you want to put in another circuit?"
They say "No."
This other consultant says he can do this without bogging down the traffic. I think
he is a really good salesman.

Help.
