Depends on what you want to do with Linux. If you just want to have an end
user system up and running, I'd suggest try Caldera OpenLinux, it's pretty
slick from an end-user standpoint, else try Mandrake or SuSE. Red Hat seems
to be routinely, a pile of crap these days.

Now, if you want to learn Linux, and hack around with it, I suggest
Slackware. IMHO, it's the "easiest" linux distro. It's very BSDish, and a
good stepping stone for those who want to walk into the BSD world, but dont
want to take a "giant leap" to Free or OpenBSD. Also, the distribution is
very small, which allows for quicker installs, and less security issues.
