Someone coming from a M$ perspective would do well to consider the following
word processors: StarOffice from Sun (www.sun.com) which includes a good
word processor that's mostly compatible with M$-Word. Also, try Corel's
WordPerfect, or Applix's Words. These are all robust, proven, high-quality
word processors for Linux.
The free word processors are getting pretty good, too, if your needs are
not too demanding.
