I think that the problem is located somewhere with the remote setup, and you
cannot connect to the remote lpd. An easy fix is to go to the print server
and read /etc/hosts.lpd to make sure that your host is listed and that you
didn't change the nickname or ip of the host. For instance, you might have
gotten a new dhcp lease or the hostname changed when you upgraded.

This won't work unless you have a local printer, but if you hook one up, it's
a good way to check that your lpd is working. Just make a filter for the
local printer and print to it to make sure that lpd functions correctly.
