Ive installed linux on a couple toshiba laptops, and have had very good success with
them. Infact, i would recommend toshiba for a someone that wanted to use linux. You
may have trouble with sound and pcmcia, like rob mentioned... if you do... bring it
down to the meetings... The reason that you may have difficulties, is because those
are often the sticky parts... not because toshiba's are more difficult in that
area.... pcmcia, and sound can be difficult for users to get working, regardless of
the distro/hardware. The few times Ive done toshiba laptops, i had no problems with
them, but i did have a software modem that didnt want to play nice :(
