Hi All,

I've been having problems with my X server lately. I just repartitioned my
disk, moving /tmp to it's own partition. Now startx results in a message
list as follows:

_FontTransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
failed to set default font path 'unix/:-1'
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

I found some suggestions, like running XConfigurator, and removing
'unix/:-1' from the XF86Config file, but none gets me back to my nice
soothing GUI with trees and my cool fractal screen saver <sigh>. The best
I got was the coarse grey screen with the 'X' pointer and no control
whatsoever.

I'm sure there is a definitive explanation somewhere, with solution. Any
pointers would be appreciated.
