I tried dd again and it worked fine. I don't know what happened.

Now I'm having problems connecting with ppp. It looks like it handshakes
ok but I can't telnet,ping,ssh or anything. I looked in /var/log/ppp.log
and everything looks good. I checked the /etc/resolve.conf and it has
the right DNS numbers. It might be on efn side. If I use ifcongig it
gives me the localhost (lo),ppp0 and another one which I don't remember
being there sl0 (serial line IP) inet addr:192.168.0.1,P-t-P
192.168.0.2,Mask:255,255,255,255. This must be the modem but why?

Also Debian must start a diald which starts up. It conflicts with wvdial
which I use. Unless someone knows how to Dial up my ISP without wvdial.
I'd like to have a button I click. since I use X with xterminal windows.
I find the diald process and kill it but it's a pain to do everytime. Any
suggestions would be helpfull. One minute everythings Ok the next
nothing. I would search the net for this problem but I wouldn't even know
where to start.

btw, thanks Seth for the dd problem. I just tried it again. I thought I
had it right.

Tim
