Seth, Mike or any other Debian users

I apt-get to get sndconfig. Now it's giving me an error. I don't have
the soundcore.0 in module search path. Sound must be compiled as a
module. Well that would be fine if I had the module, so I can modprobe it
into the kernel. I looked in /lib/modules/2.2.12 and I have no sound
modules. I have /block /cdrom /fs /ipv4 /misc /pcmcia /scsi. I looked
through them all and found no sound modules. Does Debian leave the sound
modules out? I just want to make my Debian box complete.

After I get the sound going I would like to get festival working. I can't
remember how you got it to read web pages to you. I like it to do this
just so when I have someone over I can wow them with Linux reading web
pages.

For those of you who weren't there months back, Seth showed off a program
called Festival which can read text documents and web pages. Seth had it
read some of the "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. It sounded pretty good.

I'm using apt-get to get and install festival now. So all I need is
sound. :-(

Tim
