Hal,
USWont does have newsgroups... but they dont offer shell
access (and precious few ISP's do). EFN does offer free shell
accounts for life (as long as you dont abuse your account...). You
can use your QWont account to telnet/ssh to your EFN shell
account and use EFN's news (via Pine, TIN, ...).
