It is a ATI Mach64 rage I/II built into the MB
on an aptiva
It is on the list on drakconfig
the error messages say $DISPLAY is not set and
can't open display :0 among other things

Mandrake 7.2 uses Xfree 4.0 and I bet the video card is older and
unsupported by 4.0, only 3.3
On the other hand, this is the second case of this I've heard of, so
maybe 7.2 does have a bug somewhere.
Good to see a doctor using Linux.... I'm planning on putting more Linux
on the desktop at work (OMG) soon.
