You need a modem driver, at least.
Try lsmod (list modules loaded) and see if there is anything that looks like
a modem driver.
If no, then you need your modem model number and mfg. Search on google
for:
linux <mfg> <model> modem module

Hello LUG'ers , I have another question for you. I'm trying
to get my
Linux box to see my modem again, but it just is not working. At first I
thought the serial port had failed, but I can plug a serial mouse into it
and kudzu will see it. Do I need a new modem cable or is it something else
