I suggest never using dselect. Seth knows how to use it. I once removed
half of my system just trying to install a program.
For package selection with debian I suggest the following:
Installation - Choose simple. This calls tasksel, which can also be run
later.
You want a package? - Use apt-get.
apt-get install <packagename>
apt-cache search <search string>
You can also type in:
apt-get -f install to make sure nothing has been left half installed.
