The kernel has support for different resolutions in console mode,
although I don't think you can make it bigger, but I'm not sure.
I've done it before to make the text smaller, but that's not what
you want.
To try it out, you'll need a kernel recompile if it's not compiled
in already.
Console Drivers -> VGA Text console (say yes)
Console Drivers -> Video Mode Selection Support (say yes)
Then, in /etc/lilo.conf change the line 'vga=auto' or whatever it
might be to 'vga=ask'. Then on each boot up you can choose your
resolution. Once you've found one you like, change the 'vga=ask' to
'vga=#' where # is the number next to the resolution you chose.
You can try the lilo thing first to see if you kernel will catch it.

| Hi LUG'ers,
| I have a question: is it possible to change the font size i the command
| line? The reason I ask is that I have a severe visual impairment and
| lately have begun to love the power of the command line, but the small size
| of the font is killing me.
