If you're using xterm, hold down the Control key and hold down button
3 (aka the right button if you're right handed) for a menu of fonts.
But nobody uses xterm anymore.
If you're using KDE's konsole or kvt, there's a Font submenu under
the Options menu. I guess you're not using those, or you wouldn't
have asked.
The other terminal emulators have other ways of changing the font,
but those are the three I'm familiar with.
