I heard that they did 802.11b at Burning Man;
upon further investigation I discovered that
the folx who set it up at the OCF last summer
were The Ones... when I helped out at "our"
booth I got a chance to walkabout, following
someone's vaio -- I was pleased to see that
the trees and leaves one-site didn't impair
the signal; we got 11mbps over a large area.
If I remember right, their satellite uplink
offered 2mbps down and 256k up(?)  : >

yes, it _can_ be done.

I would _really_ like to see a worxiop on
antennae-building... I'll cross-post to the
OCF list, to help rally maybe?  Does anyone
know wireless nuts who're not on either list?
