]I learned a similar lesson a while ago.  My /usr was getting near full
]and I had plenty of room on another slice, so I decided to mv /usr
]/somewhere/usr, and then create a sym link to it.  After the mv was
]completed, none of my basic command line utilities would work.  D'oh!

One of my earliest experiences of shooting myself in the foot with unix
was to bind the control characters normally bound to the return key to
a backspace instead.  It's kind of hard to get a command to go through
without being able to hit return or enter.
