The main difference between MAC fanatics and Linux lunatics is the MAC aficionado was more inclined to DTP and WP where the LUG nuts are thinking programming, security and FUN! My sister and I are good examples of both sides: She wants her computer to purr and just be there...no thinking involved other than finding the "On" switch. While I could care less about GUI's as long as I can grep, ftp and pine from the command line. (I'm not saying MAC users don't think.....au contraire...I believe they merely think less!) jk At 12:51 PM 5/17/2001, you wrote: >One of the best quotes that I ever heard about the old macintosh os's (os >6-7ish) was basically > >"Mac OS, It's not an operating system, It's a religion." > >and if the mac fanatics can have a religion why shouldn't the *nix freaks? > >Personally, I think that a lot of lugs and other similar linux organizations >have a bit of a cult mantality to them.
