i use and love lightwave 6.0. very good program. what i'm really
interested in is how well a renderer (or front end) deals with moving points
around. i know 3dStudio has a lot of problems with it. most of my 3D
models are built from basic primitives. i simply move the points around to
get the desired shapes. one thing i hate about 3D studio is the whole
"carving" method of creating objects. much easier and faster to simply drag
a bunch of points. i am definitely going to try out Blender and see if it
meets my needs.
also, i certainly wouldn't put down POV. i've seen some finished
work from it and it's impressive. i just don't like the whole idea of
writing a "script" to create my objects. maybe there's a good front-end out
there to fit the bill...
