A few more things, It would be good to add a common user to your system so people can log in to it either locally or over the wire. (While someone is playing a game locally, someone may log in remotely to show off multitasking, multiusing and that it's just cool.) Let's say username: demoday password: linux What also might be helpful is to make an 'info sheet' for your box. While your system might be hosting web pages, an ftp server, cracking nazi German codes, processing seti at home, participating as a router on the 6bone, compiling a kernel and burning a cdrom... on the console it may just show 'login: ' with a flashing cursor. An info sheet would provide the casual onlooker a glimpse of what your system is doing. Specs would be good too, for it is more impressive to have little hardware doing big things than big hardware doing any thing. Here's an example of what I'll include for one of the systems I'm bringing: Tasks: Firewall and router DHCP server DNS Caching server with local domain (demoday.net --doesn't exist, but we'll use it) DHCP-DNS to add dhcp entries into the dns server Hardware: Pentium 200Mhz 96mb RAM 1GB and 6GB ide drives Thanks! Bring everything you need to run your system: monitor, network cable, etc. We have network cable, but better safe than sorry. If you need help setting up a nic or a dhcp client, arrive early! By the way, Justin and I are putting together a gaming system with a Geforce 2MX video card, running x4. If anyone happens to have a spectacular linux 3d game that works with x4's DRI and opengl interface, bring it! Right now we have tux racer, descent 3 demo, and have looked on happypenguin.org and other places for the quake 3 arena demo and some other 3d games. Thanks, Cory
