Since ** ** the person who submitted this question may not be on the ** ** mailing list, please reply directly or on the message board: ** ** http://www.euglug.org/board.phtml?id=114 ** I have a compaq 7730mt laptop but I have a problem with the swapable device bay. The laptop ships with interchangable CDRom and Floppy drives. I installed Redhat 7.0 from the CDRom, but can't mount or unmount the CDRom. It plays CD's fine, and I have loaded RPM's from CDRoms with no trouble, if I physically remove the CDRom it will not work again without a full re-install. Having already searched linux-laptop, let me start by saying they have only a small amount of information to offer (indeed, a redhat 7.0 distro knew more about my hardware than linux-laptop could tell me...) so what I'm looking for is someone who actually runs linux on the same model computer as mine, and who has solved the swapable device driver dilema. "Do or do not, there is no try" Yoda.
